Participated locally in AWS re:Invent 2023

Hello! I am in charge of public relations for CUBE SYSTEM. Our engineers recently participated in AWS re:Invent 2023 held in Las Vegas. This time, I would like to introduce you to the local situation.

What is AWS re:Invent?

AWS re:Invent is a global event held by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and was held in Las Vegas, USA from November 27 to December 1, 2023.

At this event, you can catch up on the latest AWS updates in a variety of ways, including Keynote, sessions, workshops, and Expo.

In the 2023 event, approximately 38,000 people from all over the world and 1,600 people from Japan will be participating in the event just before the event, so it felt like a very large-scale event.

What is the best part of participating locally in AWS re:Invent?

There was a big AWS logo at the entrance of EXPO!

EXPO was also a great success!

This event will also be streamed on-demand, with Keynote and sessions available to watch. However, the best part of participating in AWS re:Invent locally is ``deepening your understanding by actually experiencing it on-site, meeting in person, and communicating with others.''

Each workshop and Expo held during the period was open to local participants only, and we were able to communicate with people from all over the world using the common solutions of AWS.
At the workshop, participants formed teams and achieved a mission together, allowing them to have fun while exchanging information and deepening their understanding.
At the Expo, visitors were able to see, touch, and ask questions about Services solutions and exhibits.
During the questions, when understanding or new questions arose, we were able to deepen our understanding even further by communicating on the spot. This was also the real thrill of participating locally.

I think it was a very good experience because it is difficult to communicate like this just by watching.

The importance of experiencing it in real life

When participating locally in AWS re:Invet, tours were also provided, and I participated in one of those tours.
Among the tours I participated in, there were plans to deepen friendships among participants on-site, and I was able to communicate with people from various industries.

Recently, we have been communicating more and more through remote work, but it was a great experience to be able to meet people face-to-face and get a feel for the local atmosphere.

In this large-scale project, around 600 Japanese people gathered on-site, and we were able to passionately discuss the common topic of AWS across the world.

Nowadays, information from all over the world is easily available on the Internet.
However, this time I realized once again that actually going to the place, meeting face-to-face, and experiencing it can provide you with more information than videos or articles.
Even in a world where IT has become more convenient, we value the connections between people and would like to continue to deliver solutions to everyone.
